InterWell 2018 release focuses on improving the user experience with the software interface through a more convenient management that will better match your daily expectations while operating seismic inversion and characterization projects with an expanding range of application and workflows.
The first major evolution of this 2018 release is the ability for InterWell to manage several projects at once. This will allow you to easily compare and visualize input data, workflows, parameters and results from different seismic surveys. In addition, any InterWell project will now be able to import any data type (full-stack, angle-stacks, azimuthal-stacks…) and run all the different inversion algorithms in the same project.
InterWell also continues to develop its seismic characterization capabilities with the brand-new Trend Modeling module, associated to the new Pointset data type. This now allows you to generate your final seismic trend maps combining inversion results and well data to build seismic constraints for geo-cellular model. Any pre-stack inversion can now be followed by the Elastic Parameters module that will allow you to compute the most-relevant attributes derived from elastic inversion results.
Following the work initiated with InterWell 2017, the Global Stochastic Inversion (GSI) has also evolved and features several enhancements and new capabilities in a more user-friendly interface (also proposing restore functionality). The main evolution, alongside advanced parameterization (possible use of external distributions, management of deviated wells), is the new capability to run stochastic inversion with external constraint from a deterministic inversion. And finally, all the GSI functionalities are now available on Windows operating system!
Most of the existing InterWell functionalities have also received in-depth improvement: from the RNMO correction that can now be fully parameterized (with the definition of 3D analysis probe size), to the a priori Modeling (with algorithm evolutions and additional low-frequency conditioning options) that also allows you to import external a priori Models, including advanced horizon processing capabilities and additional functionalities in the 3D ToolBox (such as in-depth frequency analysis through maps).
