To keep up with 30 years of pioneering spirit in numerical modeling of petroleum systems, IFP group launched an ambitious initiative by early 2007 for providing the industry with its next-generation software solution. As the main contributor to the successful deployment of petroleum systems modeling technologies in O&G companies, IFP is committed to provide solutions matching the new exploration challenges and the demand of higher performance tools.
This 3-years project results in a step change in petroleum systems modeling software applications to :
- incorporate kinematic models and realistically account for fault role in stratigraphic and basin simulations.
- access enriched fluid flow simulation capabilities coupled with innovative modeling of thermogenic and biogenic processes controlling hydrocarbon fluids quality.
- benefit from robust model calibration and uncertainty quantification solutions.
- optimize project monitoring, data management and results exploitation.
- investigate multi-scale, multi-disciplinary approaches through synergies with reservoir characterization, modeling and simulation software.
